Our animals deserve to be treated humanely and with respect. I have fought in the Assembly to ensure that our laws protect both domestic and wild animals. I authored legislation to ensure that dogs and cats used in taxpayer funded research laboratories be placed for adoption after their service as opposed to being euthanized. I also co-authored legislation that broadened the ban on the sale of all ivory and rhinoceros horns in California.
Because of my work on behalf of animals, I have received a 100% score from the Humane Society.
